'Blimey', 'Already causing a storm' - Many WBA fans react to Baggies loanee debut

West Brom may be on the hunt for a new striker at the moment, but it certainly looks as if they’re sorted for the future.

Young Jamie Soule only sealed his loan switch to Lincoln City on Tuesday, but he wasted no time in endearing himself to his new fans by bagging the opener in a EFL Trophy clash against Mansfield Town.

As always, there were plenty of Baggies keeping half an eye on the young loanee, and it’s fair to say that reactions ranged from delighted to completely unsurprised.

Soule has been scoring for fun at youth level, and it made perfect sense for his next step to be regular senior minutes at a decent level.

We saw how much it helped to bring Callum Morton on last season, and the hope will be that Soule can enjoy a similarly prolific spell with the Imps.

He should feel right at home in his new surroundings too.

Not only is Morton also on loan with Michael Appleton’s men, but goalkeeper Alex Palmer has started brightly since completed his own temporary switch from The Hawthorns.

In fact, with so many of our youngsters playing for them, Lincoln could well be a team worth adopting over the course of this season.

For Soule specifically, however, this was a wonderful exemplification of what he can do, and you would imagine that his goal tonight will be the first of many at senior level.
