Report shares how West Brom have responded to PL Project Big Picture
West Brom would not vote in favour of the Premier League Project Big Picture under any circumstance, according to the Daily Mail.
The Project has been backed by Liverpool and Manchester United and also has full support from the EFL chairman Rick Parry.
It would introduce a number of radical changes, including reducing the number of teams in the Premier League from 20 to 18.
For the Project to come into play, 14 Premier League clubs would need to vote in favour – something which looks unlikely at this stage.
The Daily Mail’s report suggests that the Baggies aren’t alone in going against it.
It is suggested that Brighton, Burnley, Crystal Palace, Fulham, Sheffield United would also not vote in favour under any circumstance.
Aston Villa, Newcastle and West Ham are said to be sceptical over the Project, which is said to massively benefit the top clubs.
The Project has been backed by Liverpool and Manchester United and also has full support from the EFL chairman Rick Parry.
It would introduce a number of radical changes, including reducing the number of teams in the Premier League from 20 to 18.
This plan is said to provide extra funding for the EFL after the COVID-19 pandemic, but it also reduces the chances of the Baggies staying in the Premier League.
The League Cup and Community Shield would both be abolished, another source of income for lesser clubs and full of rich history.
It isn’t looking good for the Project right now though, with the Premier League releasing a statement that claimed it could be highly damaging.
Baggies fans shouldn’t be worried yet, with the general consensus looking like support is at an all-time low for the bigger clubs and the Project.
