‘It’s great’ – Filip Krovinovic delighted with impact of four senior WBA figures
West Brom playmaker Filip Krovinovic has heaped praise on Slaven Bilic and his backroom staff after sealing his return to the Hawthorns.
The Croatian finally returned to the Baggies on a season-long loan deal after months of negotiating with Benfica.
Krovinovic came on for his second debut against Southampton last week and will be hoping to start against Burnley on Monday.
Speaking to the official website, Krovinovic claimed he hopes to repay the club’s faith in him this season in the Premier League.
“I feel like I have improved a lot under Slaven and the coaching team here,” he said.
“If you’re not improving every year, then it makes no sense to be a football player. Defensively, offensively, like everyone – with Dean (Racunica), Danilo (Butorovic) and Dicksy (Julian Dicks) – you learn something different. It’s great.
“I want to keep impressing and keep repaying his faith in me.”
Bilic eventually changed his formation against Southampton, adding an extra man in his midfield rather than in defence.
That saw Kyle Edwards step in but he failed to impress, potentially leaving an opening in midfield against Burnley next week.
It could be between Krovinovic and Kamil Grosicki to take that spot, with the Polish international putting in a masterclass this week – scoring a hattrick against Finland.
Krovinovic is a clear favourite under Bilic, and that could see him given another chance in the Premier League on Monday.
