Report details what West Brom are waiting on before tabling new bid for Karlan Grant

A report has detailed what West Brom are waiting for before they make another bid for Huddersfield striker Karlan Grant.

Yorkshire live have reported that the Baggies are waiting for Charlie Austin and Kenneth Zohore to leave the club in moves to Cardiff City and Sheffield Wednesday respectively, in deals that Yorkshire Live say ‘have a good chance of happening’.

This would leave West Brom in a ‘strong position’ to meet Huddersfield’s demands according to the report.

The report says “All indications from the midlands is this is what West Brom are waiting for before going back in with an improved offer”

This illustrates how tight the Baggies are having to be with their remaining transfer funds. As they are waiting for two back-up players to leave before being able to sign their key target this summer.

Austin has featured twice for the Baggies this season, both times in the Carabao Cup. Zohore hasn’t featured for the Albion at all this season, yet it is these two players who are preventing Slaven Bilic from being able to sign a player that his side desperately needs.

West Brom have until Friday, October 16 to get Austin and Zohore off the books and bring in Grant. That is a very short window to get things done, but if the Baggies can offload their two strikers then a deal for Grant could be a lot easier to sort out in this late stage of the transfer window.

Baggies fans can only hope that this is all resolved quickly and they can look forward to having a brand new striker leading their club’s attack in the Premier League.
