‘Doesn’t make sense’, ‘Basement shopping’ – These WBA fans react to major transfer udpate

West Brom are closing in on the signing of Huddersfield forward Karlan Grant.

The Athletic journalist Steve Madeley reported on his personal Twitter account on Tuesday that the Baggies have a broad agreement in place with the Terriers.

Madeley suggested that the Albion are likely to agree a loan with an option to buy at the end of this current season.

This has been boiling over for months now, and there hasn’t been a more desperate time for West Brom to bring in a striker.

Premier League clubs have until Friday to bring in players from the EFL, and Slaven Bilic is crying out for options in the final third.

Callum Robinson is currently in isolation and is a doubt for Monday’s game against Burnley, and Hal Robson-Kanu is out for a number of months after surgery.

Grant would come in and most likely been thrown straight into the deep end despite not featuring once in the Championship this season.

The thinking is that the Baggies will offer a sizeable loan fee, with the added obligation to buy later – something that would bring the cost down of any summer deal.

Many West Brom fans have reacted to the news, and surprisingly, some have questioned whether this move shows enough ambition at the Hawthorns.

There are concerns over his quality, his immediate fitness, and his ability to hit the ground running after so long off the pitch.

However, after a long and desperate hunt, we think that finally bagging Grant would be a huge step forward.
