Reliable journalist: West Brom agree £14m deal to sign striker

West Brom have reached an agreement to sign Huddersfield forward Karlan Grant on Tuesday afternoon.

The Athletic’s Steve Madeley claimed that it was a “broad agreement” between the two clubs, with the Baggies finally nearing their man.

Premier League clubs have until Friday evening to sign players from the Championship and the EFL, with Grant remaining a long-term target.

The deal is said to be a loan move that includes an obligation to buy, but how much is that said to be worth?

The Sun journalist Alan Nixon has shared an update on his personal Twitter account on Tuesday evening, sharing there is a guarantee of just above £14million.

With the initial move being a loan switch, West Brom are likely to pay a fee for that, before paying another fee to make it permanent next year.

Joseph Masi of the Express and Star claimed the Baggies will pay £6million initially, meaning there could be an outstanding fee of £8million remaining to pay.

Callum Robinson is likely to miss the game against Burnley on Monday after being stood down from international duty.

The Republic of Ireland squad have suffered from a COVID-19 outbreak, and Robinson was said to have been in contact with someone and is now in isolation.

Outside of that, Hal Robson-Kanu has recently undergone successful surgery on his broken arm and will be out of action for months.

That leaves Charlie Austin and Kenneth Zohore, and despite Grant not featuring this season, you have to assume he would start against Burnley if the move is completed.
