Nottingham Forest will find out if they have secured a loan deal for West Brom winger Kamil Grosicki on Saturday, according to Birmingham Live.
Grosicki looked set to leave the West Midlands at various points this summer, with Slaven Bilic happy to part with a player who only joined Albion in January.
A deal was seemingly agreed on deadline day between Forest and the Baggies that would see the Polish international move from the Hawthorns to the City Ground, but according to Birmingham Live, there is now ‘uncertainty’ around the deal.
On the Birmingham Live blog for Friday 16, it was reported that ‘there’s uncertainty as to whether the relevant paperwork was submitted on time’, with regards to the transfer, but the report went on to say that a decision should be made on Saturday, ‘one way or the other’.
Both West Brom and Nottingham Forest will be eagerly waiting to learn if Grosicki will be making the switch, with the Baggies waiting to see if they have managed to get a player off the wage bill and Forest waiting to see if they have secured a proven Championship player as they look for another strong promotion push this season.
On Friday, West Brom were done in the transfer market in terms of incomings after finally confirming the signing of long-term target Karlan Grant late on Thursday night.
Kenneth Zohore signed for Millwall on loan until mid-January. He was yet to make an appearance for the Baggies this season and has seemingly been deemed surplus to requirements at the Hawthorns.
Charlie Austin however, stayed put. Despite numerous rumours that he would return to the Championship, Austin remains an Albion player for the near future, which could be a blessing in disguise for Bilic as his club works through a striker crisis.
With Hal-Robson-Kanu injured and Callum Robinson isolating due to coming into close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, Grant and Austin stand as the only available first-team strikers at the club for Monday night’s Premier League game against Burnley.
