Former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has claimed that he would prefer West Brom to win the Premier League over Leeds United.
The 34-year-old was asked who he would prefer to lift the Premier League trophy between his former Villa rivals and recently promoted Leeds and he said he was ‘1000%’ sure with his answer.
Speaking on TalkSport the ex-Villa captain said, “1000% I would rather West Brom win the Premier League than Leeds.”
Agbonlahor has made various negative remarks about Leeds in the last few weeks and it is possible that he made this statement just to annoy Leeds fans, but we don’t imagine that Aston Villa fans will be too happy about his comments.
Unfortunately for the Baggies, there is no chance of them winning the league this season as they are still yet to pick up their first league win as the 2020/21 season moves into November.
That obviously didn’t need to be said but it does seem as though the Baggies are more likely to be in a relegation scrap this term following their poor start to the season. Some teams have started worse, however, which is why Monday’s trip to Craven Cottage is so important.
Fulham only have one point on the board this season and Albion need to make sure that they haven’t picked up any more by Monday night.
The Cottagers will go above the Baggies in the table if Slaven Bilic’s side lose and that would be a huge blow for everyone at The Hawthorns both on the pitch as well as off it. If West Brom can’t beat Fulham this season, who can they beat?
In other West Brom news, one worrying stat shows how lucky West Brom have been this season.
