West Brom fans have been reacting on Twitter after the Irish FA confirmed that Callum Robinson had tested positive for COVID-19.

In a tweet via their official Twitter account, Ireland announced on Wednesday that the 25-year-old Albion forward has been ruled out of upcoming international clashes against England, Wales and Bulgaria due to a positive test result.

Robinson was one of West Brom’s best players on Sunday as Slaven Bilic’s side lost narrowly to Tottenham at The Hawthorns.

The former Aston Villa attacker returned to the Albion line-up after three matches of starting on the bench and managed to impress.

However, it now remains to be seen whether he will play against Manchester United after the international break is over as he won’t be able to play or train during his period in self-isolation.

Matheus Pereira, who tested positive for COVID-19 at the weekend, is definitely going to be available to play at Old Trafford next Saturday so he could return to Bilic’s starting line-up.

But West Brom fans have been reacting strongly to this news about Robinson, with many clearly gutted to see the forward test positive.

A couple of fans have even called for the season to be declared null and void as COVID-19 cases rise at West Brom and across the rest of the country.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

As Robinson should be able to finish his period of self-isolation in time for the Man United game, we’re not seeing this as a massive blow from West Brom’s point of view but for Ireland for the player, it is.

Robinson has been denied a chance to play against England at Wembley and Ireland’s chances of winning that game, as well as against Wales and Bulgaria, have taken a blow due to this news.

In other West Brom news, Peter Odemwingie delivered his verdict on Bilic in the defeat to Tottenham.
