West Brom’s Under-21s needed a point against League 2 Exeter on Tuesday night to progress through to the knockout stage of the EFL Trophy.

Unfortunately, a 4-0 hammering saw them bow out after a messy, disjointed performance.

To make things worse, Exeter fielded a weakened side as they’d already qualified for the knockouts – and the result left many West Brom fans are unhappy.

One called for Slaven Bilic’s head, which is a tad harsh seeing as this isn’t his domain.

He was quickly put right by another West Brom supporter.

However, there’s no getting away from the fact that it wasn’t a good display at all from the West Brom youngsters.

One fan said they were “just as bad as the first team” and that highlights how badly things are going on the pitch for West Brom at the moment.

It’s Man United next for the first team at Old Trafford as Slaven Bilic looks for his first win of the season.

Some sense of perspective is needed. Other sides in the Premier League have done even worse than West Brom playing youngsters against Football League opposition in the EFL Trophy.

Leeds lost 7-0 and 3-0 en route to being eliminated and fielded two senior players in the 3-0 loss to Blackpool.

However, with the way things are going on the pitch in the Premier League and off the pitch with Guochuan Lai, Baggies fans were hoping for a bit of good news last night – and they didn’t get it.

Here are the best of the rest of the reactions from Baggies fans to the Under-21s loss.
