West Brom are facing a run of three fixtures that could make or break their season depending on the outcome of these vital games.
Albion’s next three Premier League games are against Sheffield United and Crystal Palace at The Hawthorns before a trip to St James’ Park to play Newcastle.
After much-improved performances against Tottenham and Manchester United, the Baggies must be looking to take points from all three of these games.
It may be bold to suggest that an Albion side that is yet to win a league game this season can pick up a couple of wins in quick succession but there are plenty of reasons for Baggies fans to be optimistic heading into these crucial games.
First, West Brom face Sheffield United at The Hawthorns. Chris Wilder’s side are the only team below the Baggies in the Premier League table and it is simply a must-win game for both clubs.
If Slaven Bilic’s side can perform as they did against Man United last weekend then they should breeze past a thoroughly uninspiring Blades side that is seriously lacking in quality.
Next up is Crystal Palace, also at home. Roy Hodgson’s side has beaten Man United this season which is impressive but since that opening day win, they have lacked quality and haven’t won on the road since.
Last time out in the league they lost 1-0 to Burnley, a side that even the Baggies haven’t lost to this term. Again, if Albion show up then a win can be claimed against the Eagles.
Finally, Bilic’s side travel north to face Steve Bruce’s Newcastle. This Magpies team has lost 3-1 at home to Brighton and were lucky to only lose by two goals to Chelsea last weekend.
If Albion put Newcastle’s backline under pressure they will crack and the Baggies should have plenty of opportunities to score.
Newcastle do have a better attack than Sheffield United and Palace but they are at a severe disadvantage without Callum Wilson.
If the former Bournemouth striker is marked out the game by the Baggies defence then it is entirely possible that Bilic’s side can pick up a positive result up north.
Points from these three games could seriously turn the season around for the Baggies and steer them away from the relegation places.
If West Brom perform as they have done recently then there is every chance that this can happen.
In other West Brom news, some fans were blown away by one Baggies player against Man United.
