‘Top drawer’, ‘Excellent’ – Many WBA fans blown away by ‘Man Mountain’ in draw v City

West Brom picked up a valuable point on Tuesday evening with a battling performance against Manchester City.

Not many gave the Baggies a chance at the Etihad, and that got worst when Ilkay Gundogan fired home after Raheem Sterling set the ball back.

The Albion equalised at the end of the first-half though. when Semi Ajayi fired the ball off Ruben Dias past Ederson, unfortunately, it went down as an own-goal.

Ajayi deserved that goal though, as he was magnificent.

The Nigerian international has been everpresent this season, as his defensive partner continues to change alongside him – this time it was Branislav Ivanovic being dropped.

Slaven Bilic changed his system, taking out one of his defender and Ajayi was superb in dominating the likes of Gabriel Jesus and Sterling for the majority of the game.

The 27-year-old made nine clearances at the Etihad according to WhoScored, and no one made more on the entire pitch as he stayed resolute throughout.

Many West Brom fans have reacted to the performance of Ajayi, and they were delighted with the resolute showing from their enforcer.

The majority believed that he should have taken home the Man of the Match award with ease, but the main award was the point they took home to the Hawthorns.
