‘Very poor’ – Stan Collymore shares Twitter verdict after West Brom clash v Aston Villa

Stan Collymore has labelled West Brom as a “very poor” side after their 3-0 defeat against Aston Villa on Sunday evening.

The Baggies were behind after only five minutes and were finished off late in the game after Jake Livermore was given his marching orders.

It was the nightmare start for the Albion under Sam Allardyce, who looked shellshocked on the touchline after the final whistle.

Reacting to the performance on his personal Twitter account after the game, Collymore was clearly unimpressed with the Baggies.

“One-way traffic against a very poor side down to 10 men, three-dimensional football versus park the bus and hope,” he wrote.

It was a shocking evening, there is no hiding that.

Out of anyone this could have happened against, Villa were the one team that you would most likely choose, but it was more than a hard watch.

Collymore reacting to the result online was the final straw, and this game must be written off as quickly as possible.

This was the first proof that the sacking of Slaven Bilic was one of the worst decisions we have seen all season, not just at the Hawthorns.

West Brom looked hopeless, and their expected goal total of 0.02 is an all-time low in the Premier League after their one shot all evening.

It was hard to see the game-plan from Big Sam.

Yes, the red card for Livermore didn’t help, but even before that, the Baggies didn’t look like finding the back of the net even if the game was still going on now.

The Albion must learn their lesson, and quick, with a trip to Anfield and Liverpool up next.
