‘Violent’ – Richard Keys & Andy Gray destroy VAR decisions in WBA defeat v Villa

Andy Gray and Richard Keys have slammed the officials over two incidents in the West Brom defeat against Aston Villa on Sunday.

Jake Livermore was given his marching orders for a tackle on Jack Grealish, but yet Kortney Hause was only handed a yellow for what seemed like a stamp on Grady Diangana.

Keys claimed that Hause could have broken Diangana’s leg, and was baffled as to why it wasn’t referred to the VAR officials.

Speaking on BeIN Sports after the game, the presenting duo destroyed the VAR system, claiming that both decisions made were wrong.

“I think it’s a case if you refer that on Jack Grealish, you have to refer the other one, it’s a really bad tackle,” he said.

Keys agreed and went even further to claim that Hause was violent with his challenge of Diangana, and could have caused serious harm.

“There’s not enough evidence there, for that [Livermore] yellow to be turned into a red. This one [Hause] is violent. This is a leg breaker.”

This is happening far too often.

VAR was meant to have been introduced to improve the standard of officiating in the Premier League, but it is only making it worst.

We have no complaints on the Livermore sending off, but if that is a red card, then Hause has to be sent on his way as well, his tackle was awful.

Add this to the decisions against Everton, Manchester United and Palace this season, and no team have been affected as much as the Albion.

These decisions are taking points off the Baggies, and as the season progresses, the chances for points are getting fewer – something has to change.
