6.7% accurate crosses – View: Big Sam must consider dropping marquee WBA signing
West Brom are yet to get the best out of Grady Diangana in the Premier League since his move was made permanent in the summer.
The Baggies caused outrage in West Ham’s fan base when they sealed a deal for the promising youngster, but it will be them who is laughing at this stage.
Diangana has only found the back of the net once this season and has yet to register a single assist in the Premier League.
The arrival of Sam Allardyce could have unleashed Diangana, but the first impressions against Aston Villa suggested it could have got worst.
West Brom registered a shocking expected goal total of only 0.02 against their local rivals after having only one shot all evening.
That is seriously hampering the likes of Diangana, but they need to show more rather than blame the style of play in-and-out of possession.
Big Sam must consider dropping the Albion marquee and record signing.
Looking at his stats this season, Diangana has only had three shots on target, completed 6.7% of his crosses, and only won 39.9% of his offensive duels according to WyScout.
That is nothing short of shocking.
With Liverpool coming up on Sunday, it would be the perfect opportunity to drop Diangana at Anfield.
Big Sam will know that his side won’t have much of the ball and having the 22-year-old on the pitch could just be a massive waste against the Premier League leaders.
Some would argue that Diangana will be great for the occasional counter-attack, but his stats prove that his final product is nowhere near good enough and this would be the perfect time for a reality check.
