‘Not the greatest’, ‘Done nothing’, ‘Big loss’ – Many West Brom fans react to major Tues news
West Brom were hit with the blow that Karlan Grant would be missing for more than a month after picking up an injury.
The Baggies forward confirmed his problem before missing the Arsenal game, and it has now been confirmed that he has broken a bone in his foot.
Grant has only scored once this season since arriving from Huddersfield, but Sam Allardyce won’t be happy to lose this summers’ marquee signing.
The 23-year-old has shown great promise to get into attacking areas against the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool this past month.
It is a problem when Grant isn’t putting the chances away though, and he has missed numerous quality chances to help the Baggies potentially leave those top teams with three points.
Callum Robinson hasn’t done much better when given the chance though, so it is hard to be too judgemental of the striker now he is ruled out.
Grant is averaging over a single shot per game according to WhoScored, but his hold his play is nowhere near good enough for an Allardyce side, and his 0.3 key passes in each outing proves that.
Many West Brom fans have sarcastically reacted to the blow, with some even claiming that they didn’t even notice that Grant was playing before the injury.
The majority will be praying to see a younger different side take on Blackpool in the FA Cup on Saturday, but Grant won’t be one of those.
