West Brom fans are thrilled with a report which claims Sam Allardyce has made Leicester’s Hamza Choudhury his number one January target.

The Express & Star reports Albion, Newcastle and Southampton have all submitted loan bids for the 23-year-old defensive midfielder, who’s struggled for game-time at the King Power this season.

Brendan Rodgers is reportedly keen on letting Choudhury leave on a permanent basis, rather than on loan but talks are taking place between the Baggies and the Foxes over a temporary deal.

Choudhury is said to be in favour of joining West Brom over Newcastle and Southampton due to the close geographical proximity of the two Midlands clubs.

The former England Under-21s midfielder should be a solid addition to the Baggies side if Allardyce is able to sign him this month.

West Brom’s defence has been left completely exposed by a weak midfield, which has featured too many players who seem out of their depth in the Premier League this term.

Choudhury has 40 Premier League appearances to his name and thrives in that role where he sits in front of the defence, winning tackles and getting stuck in.

A move for the Leicester ace has received a big thumbs up from a lot of fans on Twitter and here is a selection of their tweets:

In other West Brom news, fans want Albion to “get rid” of this player after his shocker against Blackpool.
