West Brom playmaker Matheus Pereira has addressed fans this week over reports that he is unhappy at the Hawthorns.
The Athletic reported that the Brazilian was distressed over stalling contract talks and that his teammates are starting to get frustrated with his performances.
Pereira has yet to find his form in the Premier League and hasn’t been handed frequent starts by Sam Allardyce since his arrival.
Writing on his Twitter account on Monday evening, Pereira admitted he was unhappy, but only about the results and matters on the pitch.
“Things are not always as they seem or how people portray them to be,” he wrote.
“It’s true I’m not happy. Not happy because of what our team is having to endure, not happy because of the lack of positive results because we try and try however have not achieved the results.”
Messages are all well and good, but we’ve been here before.
Romaine Sawyers has claimed on social media that the Baggies need to show more fight, but they’ve still only won one game this season.
Pereira may still not be performing at his best, but he is still averaging more than double the key passes than anyone else is according to WhoScored.
Many West Brom fans have reacted to Pereira’s message, and unsurprisingly, they have taken to it far better than the one left by Sawyers earlier in the season.
The majority have begged the playmaker to stick around at the Hawthorns, before begging him to influence his side to three points against Wolves this weekend.
