Matheus Pereira has been the subject of much debate over recent weeks but many West Brom fans have shelved contract talk to urge him on before the Black Country Derby on Saturday.
There have been recent reports, notably by Steve Madeley in The Athletic, detailing the Brazilian’s apparent unrest in the team and unhappiness at his contract situation.
This has caused a divide in the Albion fanbase with many questioning his work ethic and commitment to the cause but Pereira posted a tweet before Saturday’s lunchtime clash with midlands rivals Wolves captioned “Ready!”.

This prompted a slew of replies by Baggies fans with many urging him well ahead of the all-important Black Country Derby.
This is as close to a must-win game as you can get at this stage of the season with West Brom six points adrift of Brighton who occupy the last survival slot in the Premier League.
After the Wolves game there will be only one more until the halfway point of the season is reached for Sam Allardyce’s side and if they still only have a solitary win to their name, picked up against rock-bottom Sheffield United on November 28, then hopes of staying up will look almost impossible.
It remains to be seen whether Pereira will start against Wolves after the arrival of Robert Snodgrass from West Ham and how the Brazilian has struggled to fit into Allardyce’s plans since he took over from Slaven Bilic.
However many minutes on the pitch he gets he will hope to replicate the heroics of former Baggie Peter Odemwingie who scored a hat-trick in the last meeting between the sides, a 5-1 win at Molineux in February 2012.
