It’s fair to say that West Brom fans weren’t looking forward to the BCD on Saturday but we were never in any doubt we’d come away with the three points (honest!).
However, the fans were beaming after a fantastic 3-2 win over the Dingles which gives us a glimmer of hope that Big Sam can actually do the job he was brought in to do.
One great thing he’s already done is bring in Robert Snodgrass.
The 33-year-old winger rolled back the years on Saturday and many fans are already convinced that he’s going to be – as John Terry said – a massive signing for the club.
He played the full 90 minutes on his debut and got a solid 7.2 rating from WhoScored.
One fan absolutely loved the way that Snodgrass celebrated the goal and the win, and another said he “can’t get over the passion” he had for his new team.
We were expecting big things after seeing the outpouring of respect from the West Ham fans for the player – that shows the sort of man you’re dealing with.
One fan said he might not be enough single-handedly to save the season, but another couple of signings of that ilk could be.
Is this the start of the turn towards Big Sam from the fans?
Here are the best reactions from delighted West Brom supporters…
Don’t think I’ve taken to a player this quickly like I have with Snodgrass, worked his socks off and gives us that street-wise football brain we perhaps don’t have. @robsnodgrass7 #wba

Still buzzing after our 3-2 win against #wolves yesterday. We need to kick on now and use that performance as a launchpad for the rest of the season. Special shout-out for Pereira, Bartley, Ajayi and Snodgrass.#wba #baggies #albion #blackcountryderby #baggiesfamily #atid pic.twitter.com/OPAPgMrt2i

On a serious note about yesterday. How much easier is a game when you have 11 men on the field and you are disciplined. Pereira gets better when Robinson is on the pitch. Snodgrass and Livermore were brilliant as well. And Kyle Bartley……. ballon d’or!! #wba

Not saying Snodgrass alone can change our destiny this season but it does show what a couple of more in with similar qualities might do to the changing room, we were brave, committed, compact & disciplined yesterday, a massive improvement on recent performances 💙#wba

Still can't get over the passion (nvm additional quality) that Snodgrass brought yesterday. To him that was game 1. No reason he should have that fire…and yet! Top drawer that …could teach a few things to a few ppl I reckon! #wba

3 or 4 new additions and we'll definitely be in the fight. A defensive midfielder, striker, CB and a fullback (Ideally one that can play both sides) would make us alot more competitive. Snodgrass already looks like a shrewd signing aswell. #wba

Snodgrass is everything Matty Phillips isn’t! #wba

U see that passion at the end from all of em? Particular impressed with it from Snodgrass. Could walk through the door a seasoned pro…n just go through the motions. No sign of that, love it!!!! #wba

I’m still on an absolute buzz I can’t lie. Pereria getting back to his best, Ajayi and Bartley outstanding, Grosiki not a foot wrong imo, Robbo and Kanu putting in a graft as the only single strikers, and Snodgrass being a brilliant leader in his first game 👏🏼 #wba #WOLWBA

Right serious tweet, Snodgrass was the player we have needed all season, sawyers, made some neat passes but gets passed by to much in a game and gives the ball away too much, pereira was better again today, I would play kanu up top and Robbo wide next game #WBA
