Jim White makes big West Brom claim ahead of clash v West Ham
talkSPORT host Jim White has claimed that Big Sam will pull off a great escape with West Brom.
Albion got their best result of the season so far in a 3-2 win over Wolves on Saturday and White thinks that this is the springboard the club needed to push on.
Pundit Simon Jordan wasn’t as convinced but said that if anyone can do it, Sam Allardyce can.
Talking on the White & Jordan Show on Tuesday morning (talkSPORT, 12pm), White said, “I think West Brom will get out of this because of him.”
Jordan replied, “I think he’s in a bleak positon. In other cubs he went to, they had match winners. I’m not sure they do at West Brom.
“However, this league is very, very unpredictable, and I think we might find a team winning the league we didn’t expect. And we might see someone getting relegated that we didn’t expect.
“With due respect to Slaven, I don’t think they would have had a chance under him.
“It’s a challenge. But if anythione can do it, Sam Allardyce can. I wouldn’t back against Sam but I wouldn’t back West Brom to stay up, either.”
Do West Brom have match winners?
We might be lacking a clinical striker but in Matheus Pereira, we’ve got a player who can definitely turn matches.
And, in Robert Snodgrass, we’ve got a player who can inspire his side to wins as well as chipping in with goals from set-pieces.
Even the most hardened Bilic fan would admit that we’ve got a better chance of staying up with Allardyce as the manager.
We completely agree with Jordan here and that’s no disrespect to Bilic. But things had soured and he hasn’t got the same experience as Allardyce at saving clubs.
Big Sam has split the fans but if he can pull off the great escape then he’ll earn the respect of everyone at The Hawthorns.
In other West Brom news, the Albion are in talks to sign an in-form striker.
