Reliable journo details PL stance on West Brom-West Ham Snodgrass agreement

The Premier League are set to investigate Robert Snodgrass’ move from West Ham to West Brom, according to Associated Press journalist Rob Harris.

Ahead of Albion’s meeting with West Ham on Tuesday night, the Black Country club confirmed that Snodgrass, 33, would be unavailable due to an agreement the two teams struck prior to the winger’s switch to The Hawthorns.

However, the Premier League feels as though the agreement needs to be looked into, according to Harris.

Never a dull day at West Brom

It’s been known for a couple of hours that West Ham and West Brom agreed that Snodgrass wouldn’t play against his former club on Tuesday night and the Premier League have said they’re looking into it.

Why are they not looking into who actually owns the Albion instead? Why have there been no answers to the Yasha Ge mystery?

It’s an odd agreement between the Baggies and the Hammers but we really don’t see much of an issue with it.

David Moyes and whoever else at West Ham didn’t want to let Snodgrass join Albion, only for him to play against them a week later and potentially make them lose.

Instead of waiting until after the trip to the London Stadium, the Baggies must have seen they could sign Snodgrass in time to play versus Wolves but then accept he shouldn’t play at the London Stadium.

Snodgrass was superb in the win over Wolves so we’re happy with the agreement.

It’s a shame he couldn’t play against his former side but we don’t see why the Premier League have prioritised an investigation into this and not the ownership issue.

In other West Brom news, the Albion are in talks to sign an in-form striker.
