West Brom have been handed a considerable boost in their hunt for Mbaye Diagne with the Galatasaray forward turning down a switch to China, according to Haber 7.
Albion have been strongly linked with a move for Diagne in recent days with the Daily Mail reporting that the club are in talks with the 29-year-old.
This new report from Turkish outlet Haber 7 claims that Diagne wants to move to the Premier League after turning down an offer from China that is said to be more lucrative.
Haber 7 also claim that Diagne will be available for £5million with the Turkish side looking to save money by getting rid of the striker.
Albion won’t be offering Diagne incredible wages as the money simply isn’t there to do that at the moment but it seems as though Diagne would prefer playing in England to earning more money in China.
It looks as if everything is falling into place as Sam Allardyce looks to bolster his attacking line for the second half of the campaign.
The fact that Diagne has reportedly turned down a more lucrative offer in China to play in the Premier League speaks volumes about his attitude.
He could be just the player we need at the moment as he looks like he wants to prove himself at the top level.
This desire is something we haven’t seen from Karlan Grant this season with his efforts leaving a lot to be desired even with the poor amount of service he has received.
It looks as if Diagne is the right man for Albion and if he wants to move to The Hawthorns and the club want him then it should be a straightforward move to complete.
We all know how unpredictable the January transfer window can be however and until Diagne has signed on the dotted line, anything could happen.
As long as he arrives before February 1 then Allardyce will have achieved one of his primary goals this month.
Though, the sooner the better as far as Albion fans are concerned.
