Jeff Stelling predicts result of West Brom clash v Sheffield United
Jeff Stelling predicts West Brom will lose their massive relegation clash against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Tuesday evening.
Sam Allardyce may have improved the squad over the January transfer window but we’re yet to see a marked improvement in terms of the team’s results in the Premier League.
Sheffield United are bottom of the table, four points behind 19th-placed West Brom, who are nine points shy of safety with a dreadful goal difference also weighing them down.
And in the eyes of Sky Sports host Stelling, things are about to get worse for Big Sam and the Baggies.
In his predictions on the Super 6 website, Stelling has claimed that the Blades will win 1-0 against West Brom at Bramall Lane this week. He also predicts Newcastle to beat Crystal Palace which is a result that Albion fans won’t want to see either.
Absolute must-win
After drawing with Fulham at the weekend, West Brom have to win this match because anything less than four points against the two other clubs in the relegation zone isn’t good enough.
We were dreadful in spells against Fulham but Mbaye Diagne came off the bench and managed to help improve things.
He could start to earn his full debut at Bramall Lane and that may boost West Brom’s chances of a win but let’s face it, we’ve been so bad in big matches this season that there’s every chance Stelling’s prediction will be right.
Chris Wilder’s men will be on a high after beating Manchester United and only losing 1-0 to Manchester City last week.
They know that Albion are there for the taking but Allardyce’s men have put in some decent performances away from The Hawthorns since he took charge.
We’ll see what happens but we’re not optimistic.
