West Brom fans loving form of on-loan goalkeeper Alex Palmer
West Brom have not been good enough in a number of departments this season but the form of our goalkeepers has been a rare highlight.
Sam Johnstone has made the most saves in the Premier League and has looked every bit the part in the top-flight.
Another Albion keeper, Alex Palmer, has also looked terrific in his loan spell at Lincoln.
He has helped the team to the top of League One and they are best-placed to win promotion from that division.
On Monday, Palmer was named as Player of the Round in the Papa John’s trophy for his performance in the penalty shoot-out victory over Hull City.
That has sparked a discussion amongst the Albion fanbase, with many suggesting that he could be West Brom’s number one soon.
Some believe that because they doubt Johnstone’s future at the club.
The 27-year-old has spoken of his dream of playing in the Premier League, and some supporters feel his form will attract interest from other clubs.
He could leave in the summer if we get relegated.
If Palmer is promoted with Lincoln the next obvious step for the 24-year-old is Championship football.
It could be perfect timing for him to slot between the posts at The Hawthorns if Johnstone was to depart.
Whatever happens in the near future we are just pleased to see him performing and developing so well, as are a number of West Brom fans.
