West Brom loanee Callum Morton could return to action in the next nine days for Lincoln City after recovering from his long-term injury.
The young forward suffered a freak shoulder injury when working in the gym at the start of the season, and was forced to have surgery and return to the Baggies.
Morton was back working with Michael Appleton last week and looks set to return earlier than expected with Lincoln.
Lincolnshire Live journalist Mark Whiley has shared an update on his personal Twitter account today, claiming Morton could be back in nine days.
Good news on Callum Morton,” he wrote. “Could be available for the Crewe game.
“If not, Ipswich the following Tuesday.”

This would be a brilliant boost for both the Baggies and Morton.
The 20-year-old hasn’t played since September and was slowly finding his best form in League One after that stint at Northampton.
After firing the Cobblers to promotion last season, this could have been his final season away from The Hawthorns on loan before nailing a spot in the Baggies squad.
Things aren’t looking clear or very positive in the final third for Big Sam.
Mbaye Diagne has been the one bright spark since arriving, but there is no confirmation on whether or not he will stick around after this season.
Relegation to the Championship is looking likely, and Karlan Grant and Callum Robinson could be the only options available to whoever is in charge.
There could be a third spot depending on Hal Robson-Kanu, but it looks as though Morton will need an incredible end to the season to stake his claim.
