Lewis Jones has backed West Brom to return to winning ways in their Premier League clash against Newcastle on Sunday afternoon.
The Sky Sports pundit claimed that The Albion being favourites tells a big story about the predicament that the Magpies find themselves in.
Steve Bruce’s side are in crisis on and off the pitch at this moment, although the Baggies will have little rest since their loss against Everton last night.
Writing in his Sky Sports predictions column, Jones claimed that the Baggies will be able to field a better side at The Hawthorns and win 1-0.
“The fact West Brom are favourites coming into this one tells you everything you need to know about how much trouble Steve Bruce and Newcastle are in,” he said.
The Baggies haven’t conceded more than twice in any of their last seven Premier League games and Sam Allardyce has arguably built a team of higher calibre than the one Bruce will field on Sunday. I think they can nick this one.”
This is a must-win game.
Every game is definitely classed as that, but this one has extra stakes behind it, with Newcastle the team to chase in the Premier League survival race.
Three points would see the Baggies gap slip to six points, and with Newcastle crumbling at this moment in time, the pressure would certainly rise.
Steve Bruce is without the likes of Miguel Almiron, Allan Saint-Maximin and Callum Wilson meaning their attacking output could be slacking.
We need those three points, no matter how they come.
