RB Leipzig are in the hunt to sign Matheus Pereira
RB Leipzig are interested in signing West Brom midfielder Matheus Pereira, according to Express and Star journalist Joseph Masi.
The Brazilian has performed well in Germany before, winning Bundesliga Rookie of the Year during his spell with Nurenburg.
Billionaire-owned Leipzig [Forbes] would know what they are getting, therefore, and are believed to have joined the likes of Leeds, West Ham and Leicester in targeting the £11.7m valued star [Transfermarkt].
At this stage it is not known if Pereira is keen to move back to Germany, as he has previously stated he is happy in England.
It is rather unsettling to see so many stories surrounding Pereira when the transfer window is not even open yet.
However, given Pereira’s form in recent weeks it is certainly understandable, and it is growing ever more likely that we will have to accept his exit this summer.
If that happens we would of course rather he joined a club like Leipzig, simply because we would not have to watch him tearing things up for another club in England.
The interest from multiple clubs could have some benefit too.
All the clubs said to be interested carry some degree of financial power and we could pit them against one another to get the best deal for Albion.
That could mean an increased transfer fee and certain sell-on clauses.
If we can get around £25million or more that would be very good business from the club, though a loan is still the best outcome in our eyes.
