West Brom Super Fans want Hal Robson-Kanu to be released
This is part of a regular series from our panel of West Brom Super Fans. Each week, Super Fans from our West Brom News Facebook page will deliver their verdicts on the biggest talking points and news stories around The Hawthorns.
West Brom Super Fans want Hal Robson-Kanu to be released by the club when his contract expires in the summer.
The Welshman is the centre of attention after he started his first Premier League game of the season against Liverpool, and capped it off with a goal.
It was a well taken shot, too, with Robson-Kanu showing clever moment to get in behind the defence – something Albion have lacked from their strikers this term.
However, the 31-year-old simply has not shown enough this season and it seems he is running out of time to save his Hawthorns career.
Many of the Super Fans we spoke to believe it is time we parted ways with the forward, with some suggesting he is being paid too much.
Here is what they had to say about Robson-Kanu.
We have to agree with the comments above.
One goal does not changes things as overall Robson-Kanu has contributed to our relegation and has hindered the team due to his lack of quality.
Slaven Bilic should have signed more strikers last summer as Robson-Kanu, Charlie Austin and Callum Robinson were never going to score enough goals to keep us up.
And now that the striker is out of contract we should move him on.
Albion have the perfect chance to remove some of the deadwood and put their significant wages towards new signings.
We need to start building a Premier League quality team and Robson-Kanu does not fit into those plans since he is a Championship player at best.
