West Brom Super Fans debate Diangana and Robson-Kanu after Liverpool defeat

This is part of a regular series from our panel of West Brom Super Fans. Each week, Super Fans from our West Brom News Facebook page will deliver their verdicts on the biggest talking points and news stories around The Hawthorns.

West Brom lost to Liverpool on Sunday but showed pride in their performance, and we asked our Super Fans what they thought of Grady Diangana and Hal Robson-Kanu.

The pair have not started for a lengthy period, with the latter enjoying his first start of the season against the Reds.

He showed he has been missed with a well-taken goal in the first half, and but for poor officiating and bad luck Albion could have come away with a win, or at least a point.

Despite the improved performance there was still criticism of Diangana, whose influence on the match was very limited.

Some Super Fans also question Robson-Kanu’s future at the club while others slammed VAR and questioned how Albion somehow came away with no points.

Here are the thoughts of our Super Fans on the Liverpool clash.

We feel Robson-Kanu is heading for the exit door and that could come as a relief to many West Brom supporters.

If that does happen we could see four strikers leave The Hawthorns this summer; Mbaye Diagne, Charlie Austin and Kenneth Zohore could also depart.

That would leave Karlan Grant as our sole striker, and though we would make additions we also need the 23-year-old to step up.

He has proven himself in the Championship with 19 goals for Huddersfield Town in 2019/20, but he is a player who relies on service and we must provide that.

Diangana returning to form will be key to getting the best out of Grant, and Sam Allardyce must build back the winger’s fitness and confidence between now and the start of next season.

If we achieve that and add some attackers in the summer we should have a potent Championship attack next season.
