Declan Rice sends special message to West Brom fans after West Ham clash

Declan Rice sent a special message to West Brom fans after his West Ham side edged out a narrow 3-1 win at The Hawthorns.

The West Ham skipper took to Twitter after the match to praise the Albion fans in attendance at their first game of the season.

The Hawthorns was bouncing and Sam Allardyce also paid his respect to the atmosphere in his emotional post-match interview.

Rice’s tweet read, “Also an amazing feeling to have the fans back in the stadium! West Brom fans were class.”

Fans have been missed

West Brom looked destined for a point yet again but threw it away after another late corner, with Angelo Ogbonna bundling in at the back post.

We were better than West Ham for large spells though, particularly in the first half, and we feel the players were boosted by the noise inside the stadium.

All of the players seemed to thrive off it, with Conor Gallagher putting in his best shift for some time.

He finally got to show the Albion fans what he is all about in-person and despite being fatigued from such a long season he did not stop running.

Ultimately our lack of quality paid the price and we could not break down a stubborn West Ham side to get a winner, and that is why they are going to Europe and we are going to the Championship.
