Confirmed West Brom starting XI v Leeds United

West Brom have made two changes for Sam Allardyce’s last game in charge against Leeds United on Sunday afternoon at Elland Road.

Big Sam has brought in Dara O’Shea and Callum Robinson into the starting XI with Matheus Pereira and Hal Robson-Kanu both dropping out from the side that lost 3-1 to West Ham in midweek.

Confirmed on the official WBA Twitter account prior to kick-off, it looks like Callum Robinson will be tasked with the role of lone frontman.

Pereira was a big doubt coming into the game and it looks like he may have played his final game for the club as he is not named in the squad for Sunday’s clash, with the Brazilian sure to be in demand in the summer.

But Robson-Kanu is on the bench.

It will be West Brom’s final Premier League game before their drop back into the Championship after just one season in the top-flight, and they will quickly set their sights on a new manager after the Leeds fixture.

Final farewell

Big Sam will be saying his goodbyes after today’s game after a six-month stint that has gone awry.

The one-time England boss was adamant he could change Albion’s fortunes around after they spent the first half of the campaign languishing in the relegation zone, but he has been unable to mastermind a recovery with Albion marooned to 19th place for the most part.

The only objective left for Big Sam, apart from going out on a high, will be to overtake Fulham who occupy 18th spot.

Scott Parker’s side are two points ahead with a significantly better goal difference so Albion need a win and to hope the Cottagers lose at home to Newcastle United.

It’s would be the smallest of comforts in what has been a dismal season, but it will be a tough task up against a rampant Leeds side who have won their last three games and lost just once in their last 10.

In other West Brom news, reliable journo claims Albion have offered £25k/pw deal to ex-PL manager as club seek swift successor.
