West Brom Super Fans react as Roy Hodgson linked with Baggies job
This is part of a regular series from our panel of West Brom Super Fans. Each week, Super Fans from our West Brom News Facebook page will deliver their verdicts on the biggest talking points and news stories around The Hawthorns.
West Brom have been linked with a “shock move” to appoint Roy Hodgson as their new manager to replace Sam Allardyce this week.
The Mirror’s Neil Moxley has reported that the Baggies could re-hire their former manager, nine years after his spell at The Hawthorns.
The 73-year-old didn’t rule out a return to management next season, with the Baggies looking for the man to take them back to the Premier League.
Chris Wilder has been the standout candidate and still looks likely to earn the job.
Hodgson has been heavily criticised for his tactics in recent years, with his Palace side often dominated as other clubs appear to get with the times.
After leaving Sheffield United, Wilder has been heralded as one of the best during his time at Bramall Lane, even winning the LMA Manager of the Year award the season before last.
Despite numerous names being mentioned, including Hodgson, we still expect many more to be linked with the post before someone is announced.
We asked our esteemed panel of Super Fans over on our Facebook page, whether this would be a good appointment.
It is safe to say that the majority of Baggies fans would love to see Hodgson back at The Hawthorns after his departure from Crystal Palace.
