West Brom want to sign Jack Hendry after breakthrough year – report

West Brom have been keeping tabs on Scottish international Jack Hendry who has spent the season out on loan at Oostende.

According to 90min, the Belgian side have triggered their option to sign him following his loan from Celtic for a fee in the region of £2m.

While this may appear to be bad news for West Brom, who were also keen on securing his services, Oostende are unlikely to keep hold of the player.

West BromThey’ve only exercised their option to buy as there is a growing interest in the player and they will be selling him to the highest bidder this summer.

Apart from West Brom, Leeds United, Burnley, Newcastle, Crystal Palace and Sheffield United have all scouted the player on different occasions this past season.

Interesting to see this one

If West Brom are keen on signing him, it will be interesting to see how he fares at the Euros. He is in Scotland’s squad, but may not be a nailed-on starter.

However, he’s likely to be given game time in the friendlies and could be picked in the tournament proper if he impresses then.

West Brom

This season, he’s been impressive for Oostende – guiding them to a respectable sixth-place finish in the Belgian league. He was also the first division’s best foreign player of the year.

Per Wyscout, he’s averaging over six interceptions and four aerial duels won per game this season. He’s also got a decent eye for a long pass – completing nearly two every game.

He would be a good addition to the Baggies for the right price. If he’s too expensive, we would rather the club look for cheaper alternatives.
