View: West Brom want £15million for Matheus Pereira, reported valuation is embarrassing

West Brom are already preparing for life in the Championship next season after relegation from the Premier League last month.

The Baggies are still without a manager after Sam Allardyce left the Hawthorns, and there appears to have been little progress.

It is hard to start building the squad and letting players go with no managers, with candidates surely wanting assurances.

One major issue that will need sorting is the future of Matheus Pereira, with TEAMtalk reporting he could only be valued at £15million.

You’ve got to be kidding us.

Pereira smashed in 11 goals and delivered six assists last season, and lit up the Premier League despite our relegation; something that would have happened much sooner without him.

Sheffield United players such as Sander Berge and Oli McBurnie have been given mountain pricetags after their relegation, although it is hard to remember one thing they did last season.

McBurnie has been rated at £15million, and he only scored one goal all season, so there is literally no chance we would accept that level of cash [Daily Mail].

Pereira was one of the best performers in the entire Premier League given the circumstances, so we have to be demanding much more.

We can all accept the fact that the likes of the Brazilian and Sam Johnstone will be leaving after their brilliant efforts, but we have to get the big money they deserve to go for.

With the likes of Leeds and Aston Villa interested, both clubs have spent more than £100million in the past two years combined, they can easily be pushed higher in a bidding war.

£25million would certainly be more reasonable, and the Baggies have to play hardball, they don’t have to say yes to every offer just because Pereira is destined to leave.

In other West Brom news, Charlie Austin has delivered a Twitter message as he finally seals permanent exit from the Baggies this week
