West Brom place offer for Mbaye Diagne - report

West Brom have made an offer to sign Galatasaray forward Mbaye Diagne permanently, according to Ajansspor.

It is reported that the Baggies are looking to bring back the former loan star to The Hawthorns after his spell last season.

The Turkish outlet has suggested that The Albion have offered £4.3million for the striker, but £6million is closer to the asking price.

Ajansspor has shared the major update over the past week, as Valerien Ismael looks to strengthen the final third.

Writing on their official Twitter account, the Turkish outlet may have left the Baggies faithful happy with the asking price.

“The parties are at the table regarding the Mbaye Diagne issue, which Galatasaray fans are waiting for news about its sale,” they wrote.

“West Bromwich made a net offer of 5million euros [£4.3m]. Galatasaray’s expectation is 7million euros [£6m].”

Diagne often split the fans last season in the Premier League, but there was an agreement that he could be a real talisman in the Championship.

The Senegalese giant bullied defenders with ease, but his finishing often let himself down when the chances arrived.

In the Championship, the defenders are nowhere near as good, and there will be more time for Diagne to pick his spot and fire home.

With the likes of Grady Diangana, Callum Robinson and Karlan Grant around him, that could be the best front-four in the Championship.

Given the fee is so small, this could be a no-brainer for the Baggies, who don’t have a big gap between the asking price and what they have reportedly offered so far.

This is certainly one to watch and could be the next move after Trevoh Chalobah is expected to complete his move.
