Joseph Masi responds to reported bid for Matheus Pereira

West Brom have surely accepted the fact that Matheus Pereira will no longer be at The Hawthorns after this summer.

Relegation from the Premier League has left the Brazilian evaluating his options, with another season in the Championship unlikely.

Ekrem Konur reported this week that one of the first offers had arrived, and it was an embarrassing £6million bid from Al-Hilal.

This left many Baggies fans perplexed, as surely that would need to be tripled before it is even considered.

Joseph Masi of the Express and Star was quizzed on this by a fan, and he responded with the news that everyone wanted to hear.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Masi insisted that Al-Hilal will be told where to go if that offer was actually sent.

“They can bid £7m if they like,” he wrote.

“But they’ll very quickly be told where to go.”

Move on.

This is spot on.

Al-Hilal will be told to start looking elsewhere if this has actually been offered, it may be the most low-ball bid we have ever seen.

The Baggies will likely send them packing as soon as they press send, just as Masi has reported, and it needs to be at least tripled.

Pereira is a superstar at The Hawthorns and deserves to be in the Premier League, we just wish there was a guarantee we would be back there next season.

The Brazilian is likely to leave, we can accept that, but the offer has to be right, and this latest report is simply embarrassing and couldn’t be further away from even the minimum that will be required.
