West Brom Super Fans react to reported £6m Al-Hilal offer for Matheus Pereira

This is part of a regular series from our panel of West Brom Super Fans. Each week, Super Fans from our West Brom News Facebook page will deliver their verdicts on the biggest talking points and news stories around The Hawthorns.

West Brom fans have derided Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal after they reportedly made a £6million offer for Albion star Matheus Pereira.

Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur wrote on his verified Twitter account on Monday [12/07/21] that talks had been opened over a deal for the Brazilian playmaker.

Konur claimed manager Leonardo Jardim had requested the signing of the 25-year-old who scored nine Premier League goals last season as the West Midlands club suffered relegation to the Championship.

Our panel of West Brom Super Fans were up in arms at the terms reportedly offered.

Here’s what they had to say…

Shocking sum

We await further reports and confirmation over the bid for Pereira, but if it is anything near what is currently being claimed by Konur, then it is downright disgraceful.

Pereira was a rare bright spark in a dismal 2020/21 campaign for the Albion, proving that he is more than capable of performing in the Premier League.

Arguably, he was one of the stars of the second half of the season throughout the whole league as we made a brief fight for survival.

Most Albion fans would probably accept his exit this summer if he left for a considerable sum of money, but £6million is a joke. It has to be an eight-digit fee, and pushing north of £20million really.
