West Brom want to sign Manchester City talent Tommy Doyle

West Brom have joined the race to sign Manchester City sensation Tommy Doyle, according to Football League World.

The midfield sensation has attracted interest from nearly half of the Championship, with 10 clubs in the hunt.

Other relegated clubs Sheffield United and Fulham are also interested, with those three supposedly bigger names.

Manchester City are said to be taking their time over the decision, with the progression of Doyle the main key.

A decision is expected by the start of August, meaning any deal could be concluded in the next fortnight.

Doyle would arrive with experience under Pep Guardiola, having made numerous appearances throughout the past couple of seasons.

Guardiola has described the young talent as “special” in the past, and there aren’t better compliments to take from the Spaniard.

Valerien Ismael is really strengthening this midfield.

Having arrived with only Jake Livermore and Romaine Sawyers at the club, Alex Mowatt has already been signed.

Trevoh Chalobah has also been strongly linked, with talks said to be progressing well over that deal with both Chelsea and the player.

Doyle would make it three signings, and give us real options in the engine area of The Hawthorns – giving us one of the best midfield set-ups in the Championship.

There is strong competition for Doyle though, and he could literally end up anywhere, even lining up against us for Bournemouth on the opening day.

Time will tell, but this should progress over the next two weeks and give everyone a clear idea of his next destination.
