West Brom ‘weigh up’ move to sign ex-Sheffield Wednesday star Adam Reach
West Brom are weighing up a move to sign former Sheffield Wednesday winger Adam Reach, according to the Express & Star.
Reach, 28, is currently a free agent after being released by the Owls at the end of last season when Darren Moore’s men were relegated from the Championship.
It is understood that the versatile winger, who can play at left-back, wing-back and as a left-sided attacker, is among a number of targets who the Albion are looking at as they get ready to play Bournemouth in their Championship opener next week.

Extra depth
It would not hurt to add Reach to the squad.
West Brom’s squad is very weak and unless a few more signings are made, an injury crisis could be the end of Valerien Ismael’s attempts at getting the team back in the Premier League.
Reach is available on a free transfer, is capable of playing anywhere on the left-hand side of the pitch and has over 300 Championship appearances to his name. He’s also capable of a wonder goal, with Clinton Morrison telling EFL on Quest last season, as quoted by Examiner Live, that he scored an “unbelievable” goal versus Blackburn.
While signing him wouldn’t blow fans away, it would still be a decent addition to Ismael’s squad and cover any potential issues that could arise with Conor Townsend at left-back or anyone on the left-wing.
Signing Reach isn’t going to allay the frustrations of fans, though.
Since the end of last season, the only real first-team additions have been Alex Mowatt, who was also a freebie, and Matt Clarke, who’s on loan at The Hawthorns from Brighton.
Albion lost a lot of players earlier this summer when contracts and loan deals expired but hardly anyone has been replaced while Sam Johnstone and Matheus Pereira are seemingly proving difficult to sell.
Ismael needs to add to his central midfield options and he could also do with a new striker to spearhead the attack.
As it stands, this squad is barely capable of a top-six finish, let alone a top-two one.
In other West Brom news, Albion have a deal in progress to re-sign this former player on a permanent deal.
