Alan Nixon shares update on Kean Bryan after West Brom summer link
Journalist Alan Nixon says he has not heard any recent interest from West Brom in 24-year-old English defender Kean Bryan.
Nixon reported in June that the West Midlands club wanted to sign the Manchester City academy graduate with his Sheffield United contract expiring in the summer.
But when asked on Tuesday [17/08/21] whether Albion are still in pursuit of the free agent, Nixon said via his personal Twitter profile: “Not heard it lately.”

There are a few enticing elements regarding a potential deal for Bryan.
Firstly, he is available on a free transfer and that is sure to pique the interest of a number of clubs with the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic still looming large.
Secondly, he’s a versatile player. He started out as a central midfielder before being converted into a centre-back at Manchester City.
However, Bryan is also injury-prone and played just once in the 2018/19 campaign before making nine appearances the following season.
The 2020/21 campaign was better on an individual note as he played 15 times, including 13 in the Premier League
A goal against Manchester United was the highlight of his campaign as the Blades were relegated alongside the Albion.

But we look pretty well covered in central defence with Kyle Bartley, Dara O’Shea, Semi Ajayi and Matt Clarke, just to name a few.
While Bryan is naturally a midfielder, he has not played regularly there for a number of years, and thus we should be going for better options to cover in that position.
