Confirmed West Brom starting XI v Peterborough United
West Brom have confirmed their starting XI for Saturday night’s Championship clash against Peterborough United.
Valerien Ismael’s men arrive at London Road in third position in the table after three wins and a draw from their first four fixtures, knowing a handsome win could see them soar top.
They will have to take on Posh without top-scorer Callum Robinson, however, after he was ruled out of tonight’s clash following a positive COVID-19 test earlier this week.
Albion have made two changes from their last league outing against Blackburn Rovers last weekend, with Matt Clarke joining Robinson on the sidelines after suffering an injury in that game.
In their places come Semi Ajayi and Grady Diangana, while new loan signing Jordan Hugill takes his place on the bench.
Jayson Molumby, meanwhile, is not in the squad following his Friday arrival from Brighton.
The line-up was confirmed on West Brom’s Twitter account prior to kick-off.
West Brom head into tonight’s clash as heavy favourites after starting the season on fire following last season’s relegation disappointment.
Ismael looks to have reignited the fire in the players’ bellies, with 11 goals in four outings highlighting the confidence in the Albion ranks.
The midweek 6-0 thrashing at the hands of Arsenal is unlikely to have dented that given the wholesale changes Ismael made for that League Cup encounter.
Fielding a much more familiar side this time around, the West Midlands club will fancy their chances against newly-promoted Peterborough who have made an inauspicious start to life back in the second-tier.
They endured a 3-0 hammering at Luton Town on the first day of the season while their last fixture saw them lose 1-0 to Preston, but they are unbeaten at home after a 2-2 draw against Cardiff City was followed by a dramatic 2-1 win over Derby County.
