West Brom pushing to find new club for Kenneth Zohore - Steve Madeley
West Brom are pushing to find a new club for Kenneth Zohore on deadline day, according to Steve Madeley.
The Athletic journalist admitted that is a struggle as things stand, with the Dane increasingly likely to stay.
Incomings are unlikely at this stage though, with no room to manoeuvre in terms of wages at The Hawthorns.
Madeley has shared the latest on the ongoing situation on the Athletic Transfer Tracker, although it won’t please many.
“West Bromwich Albion are attempting to find a club to take £8million flop Kenneth Zohore, but it is increasingly unlikely deadline day will bring any business at The Hawthorns,” he wrote.
“He has failed to impress new boss Valerien Ismael but attempts to offload him today seem unlikely to reap rewards.
“Even if Zohore were to leave, Albion’s incoming business is almost certainly complete.”
There couldn’t have been a better chance for Zohore to prove himself than against Arsenal last week, but he blew it.
To succeed under Valerien Ismael, you need to put yourself second and run yourself into the ground for the team – something the striker hasn’t done since arriving at the club.
The Dane looked laboured and struggled all evening, before eventually limping off and most likely proving he won’t get many chances in the future.
Spending £8million was always going to be a gamble, and this is one that simply didn’t pay off for The Albion.
