West Brom beat a handful of clubs to the signing of Kean Bryan
West Brom managed to beat four clubs to the signing of Kean Bryan as they secured centre-back cover after Dara O’Shea’s injury.
According to the Birmingham Mail, Premier League duo, Watford and Burnley looked at signing the 24-year-old, while Swansea City and Fulham were also interested.
However, the Baggies signed Bryan in the end, and he couldn’t have arrived at a better time after news on Dara O’Shea’s injury filtered through [West Brom official website].
Bryan to be an important signing?
The former Sheffield United man turned down a new deal at Bramall Lane in order to try and find a new experience, and he has ended up at the Hawthorns.
Of course, he has not played any pre-season games, and you would think he could take some time to get up to speed, though; the Birmingham Mail report that he could be involved on Saturday.
The 24-year-old started at Manchester City and made 19 appearances for the Blades, and now he has the chance to make an impression with the Baggies.
O’Shea’s injury is terrible news, but it presents Bryan with a chance to make a name for himself, and we hope that he forces his way into the first team and helps West Brom this season.
However, if it doesn’t work out, he cost the club nothing and, given that he has only signed a two-year contract, could probably be moved on quickly.
In other West Brom news, the club have been dealt some huge injury news.
