Confirmed West Brom starting XI v Preston

West Brom have confirmed their starting XI for the Championship clash against Preston on Saturday afternoon.

Valerien Ismael has handed a first Albion start to loan signing Jordan Hugill after he made numerous substitute appearances.

Confirmed on Twitter prior to kick-off, the Baggies have left the likes of Callum Robinson on the bench.

There have been numerous issues to deal with.

Matt Clarke is recovering quicker than expected from his injury, which is brilliant news with other problems at The Hawthorns.

Dara O’Shea has undergone successful surgery in the past week, and starting his rehabilitation is a great step.

The injuries have stopped there as things stand, although our defence has been ravaged and led to the signing of Bryan on a free deal.

Must win?

Ismael has not been happy with what he has seen since we returned from the international break last week.

Two draws with Millwall and Derby at The Hawthorns have brought to life big problems in the final third.

Despite having bucketloads of chances in both games, the Baggies have only found the back of the net once.

Preston haven’t had the best of starts to the Championship season, but getting a last-gasp goal at Sheffield United in midweek will give them a huge boost.

Counteracting that boost will be critical in the early stages, and then we can hopefully turn the screw and come away with all three points.
