West Brom sent warning by Valerien Ismael after latest draw

Valerien Ismael has sent West Brom a warning after the Baggies could only manage a 1-1 draw with Preston North End.

The Baggies have now drawn three in a row and had to thank Matt Phillips for salvaging a draw at Deepdale.

West Brom are still unbeaten in the league and Bournemouth are the only other team still unbeaten, but there have been too many draws, and Ismael sent a message to his side after the latest disappointing result [Birmingham Mail].

He said: “This is the Championship. You see the results today, surprise results. It’s one of the toughest [leagues] in the world. Just because you have dropped from the Premier League, you’re not going to drive on the motorway, and it’s a freeway for promotion.

“It’s a fight; we need to take the fight. It’s early in the season, but we have a clear picture of what is going on against us.”

A clear message from Ismael.

West Brom started the season so well and were scoring a lot of goals.

However, they have only scored three goals in their last four games and picked up one win.

It seems very clear that teams intend to sit back and force the Baggies to break them down.

This is clever because it means that Ismael’s side can’t press teams and win the ball high up the field.

However, the Frenchman is going to have to find a way to stop teams from shutting his West Brom side out so easily because draws will not be enough to seal a return to the Premier League.

Despite this, though, it is early days, and there are plenty of games for West Brom to find a way to turn these draws into wins.

The Baggies are still unbeaten in the league, and we believe in Ismael’s ability to find a way to break through these teams who sit in.

In other West Brom news, Kevin Phillips has defended some Baggies fans after the Derby match.
