Kevin Phillips: Callum Robinson to start for West Brom in clash v QPR
We’re delighted to welcome former West Brom striker Kevin Phillips as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at The Hawthorns…
Callum Robinson and Karlan Grant are likely to return to the West Brom starting line-up to take on QPR, according to Kevin Phillips.
Albion welcome Mark Warburton’s side to The Hawthorns on Friday night as they bid to end a run of three consecutive draws in the Championship.
Last time out, in the 1-1 against Preston at Deepdale, Ismael opted to play a front-three of Matt Phillips, Grady Diangana and Jordan Hugill.
However, although Phillips scored the goal, it wasn’t a convincing display by Albion, except for perhaps Diangana, who’s impressed as of late.
Phillips sees 26-year-old Robinson and Grant being back in the side to take on QPR on Friday while he’s suggested he thinks Phillips and Hugill could be the ones to make way.
Speaking to West Brom News, Super Kev said: “With it being a home game, I see Robinson coming back in. I actually think Grant will come back in as well.
“Phillips got the goal last weekend so whether he drops out remains to be seen but I suppose you can’t second guess Ismael at the moment because he does chop and change that front-three quite regularly.
“We got it right last weekend when we said Jordan Hugill will start [at Preston] but whether he starts again remains to be seen.”
Robinson is Albion’s top goalscorer so far this season with three games to his name in seven appearances.
Phillips has netted twice, Grant has one goal while Hugill and Diangana are still yet to get off the mark.
In other West Brom news, this Albion player appears to have deleted his social media accounts after being abused online.
