West Brom man Jayson Molumby backed to feature for the first team soon

West Brom loanee Jayson Molumby has been backed by Valerien Ismael to get his chance in the first team soon.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference before the Baggies take on QPR, the Frenchman revealed that the Republic of Ireland international is raring to go and that he just has to be patient [Birmingham Mail].

The Baggies signed Molumby on a season-long loan with an option to buy in the last summer transfer window, but he has yet to make his first-team debut with Jake Livermore and Alex Mowatt tying down the midfield slots.

However, a debut might not be that far away.

Ismael said: “He’s really close. For sure, when you think that his time is not long with us because he signed, but he went straight away with the national team and has come back and been with us in full the last two weeks maybe. In time he’ll get his chance.

“He needs to be patient, train well, and he will have his chance to prove his quality. There are still a lot of games, but it’s clear – we want to see all the players all the time, but we have only three substitutes, and it’s difficult to give all the players minutes.

“No issue – he is ready.”

A positive message from Ismael.

The 22-year-old has a good amount of Championship experience and also lots of energy, which given Ismael’s preferred way of playing, could come in handy.

However, given that the Frenchman likes a 3-4-3 formation, there are only two central midfield spots, and at the moment, Livermore and Mowatt seem to be the first-choice options.

However, you would think that Molumby’s energy could prove to helpful in the Baggies’ attempts to break down packed defences and in time, we believe he could come into the side in place of Livermore [The Irish News].

For now, though, he will just have to be patient and has to be ready when called upon to make a big impact.

Ismael seems to suggest that it won’t be long until Molumby gets his chance, and he just has to make sure that he is ready when called upon.

Hopefully, he will make his debut against QPR on Friday.

In other West Brom news, Ismael has provided an update on Kean Bryan ahead of the QPR game.
