Chris Lepkowski slams West Brom defence in 2-1 win v QPR
West Brom finally managed to secure a big win in the Championship over Queens Park Rangers on Friday evening.
Despite going one-nil down in the opening minute of the game, the Baggies rallied to beat the Londoners 2-1 at The Hawthorns.
Chris Lepkowski has fumed at the defending, though, labelling some of it as “awful” as the Albion went top of the Championship.
Writing on his personal Twitter account during the game, Lepkowski was clearly unimpressed with what he was watching.
“Willock slipping saved us there,” he said. “Awful positioning by defenders.
“No synergy at all between West Brom defenders tonight. Rash clearances, lack of communication, players taking up the same space, leaving gaps around them. Not great. Subs not worked so far either.”
Get through it.
The Baggies will get better in defence, that is guaranteed.
When looking at our squad, Dara O’Shea and Matt Clarke are almost guaranteed to start, but both have been ruled out injured.
Conor Townsend is currently filling in at left-centre back and although we are getting results, it clearly isn’t working.
Kean Bryan’s signature hasn’t quite worked out either, especially given how he still isn’t deemed fit enough to start after missing numerous games.
Once Ismael has all of his defensive options available, these issues should dissolve and it could help us return to that relentless style that we saw at the start of the season.
We won’t lie, it hasn’t looked pretty in the past month but we are confident that it can change as the season progresses.
