West Brom star Karlan Grant discusses his partnership with Callum Robinson

West Brom striker Karlan Grant has been speaking about his partnership with Callum Robinson and their friendship off the pitch.

The 24-year-old bagged a brace on Friday night against QPR, and the former Sheffield United forward came off the bench to assist both of his goals.

Robinson picked up the ball in the middle of the pitch and played it out wide to Grant for the first one. He fired in a shot that Seny Dieng somehow palmed into the net [QPR].

The second goal was much better as Jordan Hugill, Robinson, and Grant combined to score a late winner and lift the roof off the Hawthorns.

Speaking to the Express & Star about Robinson, Grant said: “We’re like big kids on a playground.

“It’s good; I think he has assisted all my goals since I have been here, which he was talking about in the changing room. But I think it helps you on the pitch if you get on off it.

“To be fair, we all get on, but me and Callum, we have a lot of banter in the changing room, and I think that helps.

“I think everyone saw that in the celebration at the end; hopefully, we have more moments like that. It’s been natural on and off the pitch. We bounce off each other, which is good.”

The start of a promising partnership?

The Baggies signed Grant from Huddersfield Town in 2020, and since then, he has only scored four goals.

However, he is right because Robinson has assisted every one of those goals, which suggests they have a good understanding of each other.

If they can continue to link up like this, then you would think the Baggies should benefit.

Grant hasn’t had the easiest of starts since he moved to the Hawthorns, but hopefully, this double gets his Baggies career underway, and we can see more of the Grant who played for Huddersfield.

In 57 appearances for the Terriers, he scored 23 goals, which is a good record and if he could replicate that under Valerien Ismael, then there could be exciting times ahead.

Certainly, it appears as if there is a new partnership for West Brom fans to get excited about, and we look forward to seeing more of Robinson and Grant moving forward.
